The ultra-slim aluminum frame prevents vignetting on long focal lengths yet still allows smooth rotation to fine-tune the polarization. A textured, nonslip upper rim makes the filter easy to fit, rotate and remove. High-quality optical glass is treated with double-sided, multi-layered coatings and is anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. CPL filters work by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light so much of the unwanted light is absorbed, clearing haze in distant scenes and rendering more vivid, saturated colors — particularly enhancing blue skies and white clouds. For the strongest effect position the filter at a 90° angle from the sun.
