Made for use with the NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter features an ultra-slim aluminum frame that prevents vignetting while still permitting full rotation for precise adjustment. A nonslip upper rim provides a secure grip for easy installation, rotation and removal. The optical surface is treated with double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil and scratch & water resistant. CPL filters are effective at removing unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass, and they boost color saturation and contrast—commonly used to deepen blue skies and make white clouds pop. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, the filter allows much of that reflected light to be absorbed, reducing haze in distant landscapes and producing more vivid, saturated colors. The effect is strongest when the filter is used at a 90° angle from the sun.
