What this part does: The spindle assembly is a key component of your mower’s cutting deck. It works with pulleys and belts to keep the blades turning smoothly and evenly. Since the blades spin around the spindle, any bent spindle or worn spindle bearings will cause poor cutting performance or prevent the mower from operating properly. Repair tip: In many cases you can restore deck performance by replacing the spindle assembly or the spindle bearings yourself — no need to replace the entire deck. How to stop the spindle from turning when removing blades: Loosen the clamp on a blade removal tool by turning the handle counterclockwise. Position the removal tool so it covers the blade end and the stopping edge rests against the deck side. Then turn the handle clockwise to tighten the tool and hold the spindle securely while you remove the blade. Safety precautions: Before working on a riding mower, park it on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and remove the ignition keys to prevent accidental startup. Reminder: Please check the size and fitment details on the product page to confirm compatibility with your mower before purchasing.
