Canon VIXIA HF G40 Super-Cardioid Shotgun Microphone (Stereo/Shotgun) with Dead Cat Wind Muff

A high-sensitivity condenser shotgun mic engineered to capture clear, forward-focused audio while minimizing ambient sound. The microphone uses a super-cardioid capsule to prioritize sources directly in front of it and features a shock-resistant structural design to cut down mechanical and camera vibration noise.

Frequency response covers 20-20kHz and a selectable HPF @ 80Hz / 12dB /octave helps control low-end rumble. Sensitivity ranges from -50dB to -10dB (enhanced), with additional low-frequency attenuation at 60Hz 10dB / octave. Output impedance is 200Ω.

Practical on-camera tools include adjustable sensitivity with visual metering and a pre-calibration function to set optimal recording levels and reduce unwanted noise without sacrificing dynamic range. The mic is powered by 2 AAA batteries (included) and offers approximately 80 hours of operation; a low power indicator is also provided.
