Berg Larsen BLMTS1051SMS 105/1 Other Unisex Mouthpiece
No rating yet(0 ratings)Berg Larsen BLMTS1051SMS is a metal tenor saxophone mouthpiece in size 105/1, listed as Other and Unisex under Woodwind Instruments & Accessories. UPC: 889406170155. Its stainless steel construction and reflective finish are intended to increase service life and projection. Tip opening is the distance between the reed tip and mouthpiece tip, measured in thousandths of an inch.
A wider opening generally permits a softer reed; beginners may find a narrower opening gives clearer tone and more consistent intonation. The listed ranges are 90 close, 95-100 medium close, 100-105 medium, 110-115 medium open and 120-130 open. Chamber size affects brightness: more baffle produces more edge, with chamber 0 having the most edge and 3 a mellower tone.
SMS, or French, facing is shorter and steeper; M, or American, facing is longer and flatter. Tip and chamber combinations allow tones from bright and edgy to smooth and dark. A cap and ligature are included. The facing is SMS unless otherwise specified.
