The Audison AP5 from the PRIMA Series is a compact 130 mm (5") woofer engineered for tight low-frequency control and robust power handling. It uses a 32 mm pure copper mobile voice coil to support high power levels and deliver precise bass response. The cone is a water-repellent treated paper design whose profile was created with FEM (Finite Element Method) simulations and further refined with the Klippel R&D Scan Vibrometer. Thanks to this Klippel optimization the cone achieves a calibrated mechanical low-pass cut-off frequency, eliminating the need for a passive crossover to maximize efficiency. Designed for easy installation in OEM locations, the driver features a reduced mounting depth and a TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) surround with the exclusive shallow "Triple Wave" profile to preserve linear excursion. The compact basket is finished with an abrasion-resistant, scratch-proof coating, and the motor assembly is secured with damping epoxy adhesive. For fast, flexible wiring the woofer includes a high-current fast-on terminal with double contacts on both the positive and negative poles; the terminal is protected by a temperature-resistant plastic cover to prevent accidental short circuits.
