The Black ANCEL 101-100BCD2 is a 12V battery tester and OBD2 scanner in Diagnostic and Test Tools (SKU sku-16362122528; UPC 720677528477). Its crocodile clips have copper contacts, a spring and an anti-slip coating; built-in chips support battery diagnostics with a stated accuracy of 99.6%.

For accurate results, select the battery type, standard and CCA or AH value, then answer the in-vehicle or out-of-vehicle and above- or below-0°C prompts correctly. The large LCD has adjustable contrast and a white backlight, supports multiple languages and is designed for one-handed use.

Reverse-polarity, short-circuit, overcurrent and overvoltage protections are housed in an impact- and corrosion-resistant ABS shell. It supports flooded, AGM, GEL and EFB batteries in cars, trucks, hybrids, SUVs, boats, RVs and motorcycles, along with JIS, EN, DIN, SAE, CCA, BCI, GB, CA, MCA and IEC standards. It does not support 6V, 8V or 24V batteries or lithium batteries.

A quick test requires the correct AH value; if that value is unknown, the battery test instead requires the CCA value typically printed on the battery label. Its 4-system diagnostics cover engine (PCM), transmission (TCM), airbags (SRS) and brakes (ABS).
