Our builder, with more than 20 years of experience crafting outdoor pieces, uses traditional techniques to ensure lasting durability and classic character. Constructed from Eastern Aromatic Red Cedar, this wishing well showcases the wood’s well-known fragrant aroma and its soft, fine, even texture—the same cedar commonly used for cedar closets, cedar chests, and fence posts. We finish every piece with an oil-based outdoor sealer that accentuates the cedar’s rich red tones and gives an amber warmth to the overall color while helping resist water. For best results, restain unprotected outdoor furniture once per year. If the piece is placed in a partially sheltered spot such as a covered porch, restain after the first year and then every 2–3 years. Any oil-based outdoor sealer in a Cedar tone will work; we recommend Finish Works FL5812. This design has been refined with thicker and wider slats in the support system to improve load distribution and reduce the likelihood of sagging over time. Each plank is professionally milled to be flat, straight, and square, producing a uniform, smooth surface that minimizes the chance of splinters and delivers an elegant rustic appearance.
