The case holds a genuine JFK half dollar, first minted in 1964 as a memorial to President John F. Kennedy. Gilroy Roberts designed its portrait side, and Frank Gasparro designed the Presidential Seal side.
The coin is layered in pure 24K gold. Opening the case reveals a skeleton display with mechanical movement, a sweeping second hand and a black face with gold-tone Roman numerals. The watch has a push-pull crown, plastic crystal and snap-down closure. It measures 2.88 inch by 1.75 and has a 14.75-inch fob chain. Its back has a brushed finish suitable for engraving.
