The Amcrest NV4108-A2 is an 8-channel PoE Network Video Recorder designed for high-resolution IP camera systems. It ships with a pre-installed 1TB hard drive (supports up to 10TB) and offers recording and live view in resolutions up to 8MP/4K at real-time 30fps. Superior HD 4 Megapixel video is supported at 20fps, and the unit can record and display up to 1080P (1080P cameras not included) with a 1920x1080p output. Playback performance: 8-channel at 1080p (30fps), 4-channel at 4MP (30fps), and 2-channel at 4K (30fps). Storage and bandwidth: advanced H.265 compression reduces storage needs without sacrificing UltraHD quality. The NVR accepts a maximum incoming bandwidth of 80Mbps. It can record eight 4K cameras using H.264; for optimized 4K recording across 8 cameras switch the default to H.265 and set each camera bit rate to 1792. Intelligent search, precise one-second exact search, streamlined playback, and simple backup functions (including USB backup/transfer) make reviewing footage straightforward. Network and camera compatibility: this PoE NVR manages all IP cameras on your network and supports both wired and WiFi IP cameras (note: the NVR has no built-in WiFi and requires a hardwired Ethernet connection directly to your router to operate). It is compatible with 480p, 720p, 960p, 1080p, and other IP camera resolutions and works with Amcrest plus a long list of third-party brands (Foscam, Dahua, Arecont Vision, AXIS, Bosch, Brickcom, Canon, Honeywell, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Vivotek) and any ONVIF-compatible IP cameras. Record and playback options include Amcrest or ONVIF NVRs, FTP, or Blue Iris. An optional Amcrest Cloud Video Recording service is available. AI and device features: the NV4108-A2 supports AI features provided by AI-capable IP cameras (available features depend on the camera model). The NVR itself has no built-in AI; it supports up to 2-channel AI cameras at 4K@30fps. Local outputs include VGA and HDMI, web access is supported, and mobile QR-code setup is available via Amcrest View. Cameras can connect up to 300ft away when appropriate network conditions exist.
