All the Best UK Pop Rock Music 077774850728 sku-634708378

Paul McCartney's All the Best [UK] is a new CD listed as Pop Rock Music, SKU sku-634708378 and UPC 077774850728. The source also prints the UPC as 0077774850728. This compilation of McCartney's solo material overlaps with Wings Greatest: eight of that record's 12 songs appear here, while “Hi Hi Hi” and “Junior's Farm” do not. The UK edition differs from the American edition by four songs.

The review finds “We All Stand Together,” written for a British children's show and sung by frogs, out of place; it also discusses “Mull of Kintyre,” the UK-exclusive “Once Upon a Long Ago” and the title track from Pipes of Peace. The reviewer misses “Maybe I'm Amazed” but considers the collection a strong, occasionally sentimental survey of McCartney's singles.

In a personal aside, the reviewer recalls paying nearly 30 dollars for the import at age 15 in 1988. Review credited to Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi.
