ACDelco D1996 Ignition Module sku-105910672 036666476897

ACDelco D1996 is a GM Original Equipment ignition control module without a coil, listed under Engine & Powertrain Replacement Parts. It is a GM-recommended replacement for the original component and fits a 1987 Buick Regal.

GM says it undergoes more stringent testing than aftermarket products and is made to fit the specified vehicle with the performance, durability and service life expected of its original equipment. The module increases voltage to help the spark plugs ignite the air/fuel mixture as the starting and charging system starts the engine.

The source also states that it maintains battery charge and powers electrical accessories while the engine runs. Electronically welded lead connections help reduce heat stress, failure and cold joints. Laser trimming provides precise values and helps reduce deterioration and damage.

A copper slug heat sink dissipates heat, while a large bus bar adds support and conductivity where installation and operation stress the terminal tabs. SKU sku-105910672; UPC 036666476897.
