Optical lens cleaning instructions: Begin by removing loose debris with a blower (or an ear wash ball), then use a clean, dedicated brush to gently sweep away any remaining particles before wiping. Do not blow on the lens with your mouth. If dust or grime remains after blowing and brushing, gently wipe the surface with lens cleaning paper that has been slightly dipped in xylene. For lenses that have become moldy or fogged, use lens cleaning paper moistened with a mixture of absolute alcohol and ether; use only a small amount of liquid and keep contact time short to prevent the solvent from seeping into the lens and causing corrosion. For oily lenses, clean immediately after use: first wipe once or twice with dry lens tissue to remove most of the oil, follow with two wipes using xylene-wet lens tissue, and finish with one final wipe using dry lens tissue.
