The 52Pi RS01 is a 1U rackmount chassis engineered for Raspberry Pi 5 deployments in standard 19-inch racks. It accepts four RS-P11 expansion boards designed for the RS-P22 Raspberry Pi 5 module and provides PCIe expansion via an onboard motherboard, enabling installation of M.2 NVMe SSDs in 2230/2242/2260/2280 form factors. Power can be supplied conveniently from the front using the USB-C input, which is useful for dense cluster installations. Front-panel connectivity includes two Grove connectors for quick access to external modules: one Grove port implements I2C, the other implements UART. Both interfaces follow standard Grove I2C and Grove UART conventions and are compatible with a wide range of Grove sensors and modules that operate at 3.3V. A red front-mounted UID LED tied to GPIO4 serves as a visible identifier; it lights when driven to a high logic level and can be programmed to show status or identify individual units. Optionally, a 0.91-inch OLED display can be fitted and driven over I2C to show customizable information such as CPU load, memory usage, IP address, and serial numbers.
