Brake options include a top lock brake (TLB), total lock brake (TTL), or bolt-on swivel lock (BSL). The TLB locks only the wheel by applying force to the tread.

The TTL locks both the wheel and swivel for a stationary position. The BSL, when inserted into one of four notches on the swivel raceway, converts a swivel caster into a rigid caster for straight-line movement at 90-degree angles.
