Ensure the water pump you pair with this thermostat provides adequate flow — insufficient flow can cause dry-burning and permanently damage the heater element. Pump requirements by unit size: for systems below 11KW, the supporting pump must be at least 750W and deliver a flow of no less than 13 cubic meters per hour; for systems above 11KW, the pump should be at least 1.1KW with a minimum flow of 18 cubic meters per hour. Correct startup/shutdown procedure: always switch the water pump on before powering the thermostat. When turning the thermostat off, wait 10 seconds to 1 minute before shutting down the pump. Note: a 1KW thermostat will heat roughly 1 cubic meter of water; outdoor pools typically need greater heating capacity.
