Built-in NPU for local AI detection — The Camera Hub G5 Pro includes a powerful Neural Processing Unit that performs on-device analysis, offering 7 types of visual detection and 4 types of abnormal sound detection without relying on the cloud. Visual capabilities include face recognition, identification of individual vehicles, animals and people (including lingering detection), plus Lens Obstruction Detection and Package Detection. For sound, it can detect babies crying, alarm tones, barking and coughing. These local detections allow the camera to capture important events and activate automations even if your internet connection is down. Hub functionality & Matter bridging — G5 Pro doubles as a hub supporting dual protocols: Zigbee (Not third-party Zigbee devices) and Thread. Connection configurations include up to 80 Zigbee Sub-devices or 40 Thread sub-devices, or a mixed setup of 20 Zigbee Sub-devices and 20 Thread sub-devices. The camera can bring compatible Matter devices into the Apple Home app and expose existing gear to Matter-compatible ecosystems such as Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home. (Compatibility varies by device type, ecosystem support, and presence of a Matter Controller.) Secure storage options & HomeKit Secure Video — The G5 Pro supports HomeKit Secure Video (requires an active iCloud subscription and an Apple Home hub) and provides a built-in encrypted 8GB eMMC. In addition to Cloud support, it offers RTSP with full end-to-end encryption so your G5 data remains accessible only to you and authorized family members.
