The source describes the PD2140 as a 40-amp marine unit that charges up to three separate banks of 12-volt batteries at once. Its microprocessor monitors battery voltage and selects among four charging modes: boost, normal, storage and equalize.
Storage and equalize modes limit gassing and water loss while helping prevent stratification and sulfation. It has 3 DC outputs, a digital display for voltage, mode, blown-fuse status and battery type, plus a stainless steel and aluminum housing. It supports lead-acid, gel-cell and AGM batteries, has a 120-volt AC input, is UL listed and carries a 2-year limited warranty.
