Let its automatic self-check finish; when the display lights go out, an accurate thermometer should read 40 °C. Turn the thermostat clockwise to heat. The indicator lights while heating, and the unit restarts when the water cools by a few degrees. From cold water, the expected rise is about 6 to 8 °C per hour.
