High-performance Cat8 field plugs engineered for 10GBASE-T, 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T channel networks (compatible up to 30 meters). GHMT has verified Cat 8 channel performance, and these connectors are fully backward compatible with Cat 6 (Cat6), Cat 6A (Cat6A) and Cat 7 (Cat7A). They also support IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet (PoE+) applications. Design and termination: The RJ45 connector features an open-hinge tool-free design for easier placement and termination of bulky shielded cables. The modular plug accepts T568A or T568B wiring schemes and the termination cover is color-coded for straightforward pin identification. A screw-in metal strain relief preserves cable integrity and enhances shielding. Shielding and noise control: The one-piece die-cast metal shell with integrated muffler cylinder provides robust shielding to reduce crosstalk and suppress electromagnetic noise, including NEXT and AXT, and limits crossover between wires. An IP20-rated dust cover protects RJ45 contacts during transport or storage. Network behavior and compatibility: Supports Cat8 auto-negotiation in hybrid networks so Cat8 Ethernet cable can negotiate data rates with a 1 GB switch, 10 GB switch or 40 GB switch. The metal-shell field plug is suitable for connections to Cat 8-channel network switches and servers. Cable specifications: Compatible with shielded Cat8 conductors 22 AWG to 24 AWG with an outer diameter between 7.0 and 8.5 mm. Backward compatible with Cat 6A or Cat 7 connectors.
