PCGS graded it MS-69, indicating only minute imperfections under magnification, encapsulated it to protect its condition and gave it a FirstStrike® designation because it shipped from the Mint within the first 30 days of release.
The coin was traced to the West Point Mint through a sealed box and U.S. Mint production records; bullion Silver Eagles do not bear mint marks. Its obverse shows Adolph A. Weinman's flag-draped Lady Liberty, a design first used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916. The reverse shows Emily Damstra's flying eagle carrying an olive branch.
Her design replaced John Mercanti's heraldic eagle reverse in 2021. Established under the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, the American Silver Eagles series began in 1986. The U.S. government backs the series for purity, weight and silver content.
