This 5g minted bar belongs to a series about the 12 animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar that began with the Azure Dragon in 2024. It tells the legend of Bai Suzhen, a white snake who became a human woman after a thousand years of Taoist training. She sought out Xu Xian to repay him for saving her in a past life, and they married. After the monk Fahai persuaded Xu Xian to reveal her true form, Xu Xian died of shock. Bai Suzhen stole an immortal herb from Heaven to revive him. Fahai later imprisoned her in a fortress pagoda, where she gave birth to a son. When he grew up, he freed her and the family reunited. The obverse arranges the lunar animals around a new moon, with the Azure Dragon associated with power and auspiciousness; Chinese characters mark its peak period between 7 and 9 a.m. The bar contains 999.9 pure gold, measures 13.1 x 22.1 mm and is 0.90 mm thick. It comes in a red CertiPAMP™ assay card with an envelope. The series is also available in 1oz and 10g 999.0 silver, and in 1oz and 5g 999.9 gold sizes. You may also like 2024 Pamp Suisse Heart Bar sku-12534402410 025506001986.
