The spacers increase tire-to-frame clearance for wider wheels and high-traction mud, rock or snow tires. They add stability and control for experienced riders and are intended to reduce rollover risk for younger or less experienced riders.
Installation is bolt-on: attach a spacer to the hub, then attach the wheel to the spacer, with no vehicle modification required. Sixity states that the lightweight spacers have 2.5 times the tensile strength of common aluminum. Their forged, heat-treated wheel bolts are hardened to metric class 10.9 (SAE Grade 8) for strength and corrosion resistance.
