Overview: This solar VFD frequency converter with built-in MPPT is designed for driving inductive loads such as motors (typical use: water pump speed control). It provides reliable motor protections and automatic solar coordination to maximize energy harvested from PV arrays. Selection notes: - Read product instructions and select the correct type based on required functions and power to avoid wiring mistakes and equipment damage. - This frequency converter is intended only for inductive loads (motors). It must not be used to drive non-inductive load types. - Ensure the total DC input power from solar panels is greater than the photovoltaic converter rating, and that the photovoltaic converter power is greater than or equal to the total load power it will drive. - Use the recommended DC input (see best input values below) for optimal VFD and motor efficiency. DC input voltage can be adjusted by changing series/parallel connections of solar panels. Key functions: - Built-in MPPT controller (Maximum Power Point Tracking) continuously monitors PV voltage and current (VI) to find the maximum power point and deliver maximum available power to the load, coordinating PV array and motor operation. - Wide voltage input support: 220-type and 380-type converters have distinct input ranges and built-in suppression/alarms to prevent under-voltage and over-voltage problems: - For 220 type: if PV input drops below 200V a low-voltage alarm/shutdown occurs; if PV input rises above 400V the unit will automatically suppress voltage rise to avoid over-voltage shutdown. - For 380 type: if PV input drops below 400V a low-voltage alarm/shutdown occurs; if PV input rises above 700V the unit will automatically suppress voltage rise to avoid over-voltage shutdown. - Unattended automatic start/stop: the converter will automatically start driving the load when PV illumination raises input voltage to the start threshold (about 200V for 220-type, about 400V for 380-type) and will stop when input voltage falls below the shutdown threshold at dusk. - Motor protection features include short-circuit, phase-absence, over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature, and overload protection.
