No rating yet(0 ratings)The MANTISTOL Tomahawk Series 18" Pro Max is a Hand Tools laminate floor cutter, size 18", with an aircraft-grade aluminum construction, extruded aluminum base, solid plastic work surface and long handle. It cuts engineered hardwood up to 1/2 in (13mm) thick at 1250 Janka hardness, with 18 inch full-length cuts.
It also cuts laminate, HDF/MDF board, fiber cement siding, interlocking hardwood tiles, garage tiles, modular drainage mats, luxury vinyl tile or plank, vinyl siding, VCT tiles, rubber tiles and foam tiles. The stated maximum is 11/16” (17mm) thick and 18" wide. It cannot cut bamboo flooring. Harder flooring over 13mm thick requires greater cutter strength.
The guillotine-style cutter works without electricity or cutting dust and is described as quiet. It makes cuts up to 18 in. wide, 13in. diagonally, and at 0°, 15°, 30° and 45°. Two symmetrical sets of 90° and 45° guides accommodate left- or right-handed use; you can switch to the other side when one blade edge dulls. A honing stone is included.
