1000W Solar Grid-Tie Inverter with Limiter — High-Precision MPPT, Battery & PV Mode Grid-Connected (2nd Generation)

Overview: This 1000W grid-tie solar inverter combines multipurpose battery support with a high-precision MPPT controller for PV mode grid-connected installations. It was developed to give users precise control over how much solar-generated power is exported to the utility grid. Why this limiter exists: Many electricity meters only register total energy without detecting direction of flow, so exported solar power can still be counted as consumption. To address customer demand to reduce or eliminate paid export to the distribution grid, this inverter includes a limiter function that prevents unwanted excess generation from being sent out. 2nd generation improvements: This is the 2nd generation grid-tie inverter with limiter. The upgraded unit adds an acquisition meter that measures load consumption via a current sensor and communicates that data to the inverter over RS-485. By receiving the measured load power, the inverter outputs the corresponding amount to the grid — a feature we refer to as external power acquisition. Connection procedure for the acquisition sensor: 1. Connect the RS-485 cable from the AC power acquisition meter to the inverter’s 485 port (RS-485). 2. Insert the transmitted current sensor’s output into the collector port labeled "CT-IN" (observe: no + or - polarity on this port). 3. Connect the collector’s AC power input labeled "AC-IN" to the same AC supply feeding your load. The collector will power up and its indicator will light. 4. On the inverter LCD, enter the "battery grid connection" menu and set via SET {Bat AutoLimit Grid} to Y. 5. Power up sequence: connect the inverter to AC mains first, then connect the battery. The inverter will then output the same power as detected by the collector. Result: With the acquisition meter and proper setup, the inverter automatically limits export so there is effectively no excess electricity sent to the grid (automatic limiter function).
